An other voice of the ghetto: the director Charles Burnett, born in 1944, author of “ Killer of Sheep ” (1977) and “ My Brother's Wedding ” (1983). Both are Los Angeles movies with no Hollywood money. Permanent movies, maybe too permanent for Hollywood. The music at the end of “ My Brother's Wedding ” is stunning (“ Bear Dance ” by John Biggs Consort, University of California).
