kondh bronze

On 24th december eve, we were the three of us, Florence, her mother and me, for a very nice dinner in her house in Alsace. We had a special smoked salmon with home made blinis and it was mmm, succulent... On the table, Flo walked her Christmas present, a nineteenth century bronze sculpture from the Kondh tribe in India. This fantasy animal with bird paws looked kawaï, clumsy and strange. Exactly the kind of things that fit with our interior interior. Later, Flo red something about the Kondhs: they have the reputation of being tough and knowned for human sacrifices; they were hard to convince to stop doing that. This small gift might have witnessed or might have been associated with human sacrifice before his walk on our Christmas table.
