Yesterday we saw the ex-prime minister Lionel Jospin riding a bicycle, rue Montorgueil, with his wife (wearing a Sonia Rykiel navy blue raincoat). They both were very slow, as if Lionel wanted to be seen. People were laughing because it's funny to see an homme politique riding a bicycle at a very slow pace. The street is a crowdy pedestrian street near Les Halles , which means: he had a large audience à la terrasse des cafés. Montorgueil means = the mount of pride... In english, pride is not pejorative. In french, it is one of the 7 deadly sins.
