The old woman spent two months in these Champagne caves under Pfastatt near Mulhouse, in november and december 1944, while the war was about to end and the bombs falling like rain. A very wet air, the same as 65 years ago, and only 12°C. A man, very upset to be trapped in these tunnels, swearing all the time in the Alsatian dialect: "Got fer danmi" (May God damn me). A little girl, she was learning how to speak, which also meant how to pray, in 1944. She replaced the Chapelet prayers by the swearwords she heard all day, which became prayers in her innocent mouth.
